Kwanzaa, celebrated from December 26th to January 1st, is a week-long festival that concludes with a focus on reflection and commitment to the seven principles, or Nguzo Saba.
The last day of Kwanzaa, January 1st, is known as “Imani” which means “faith.” This day encourages participants to believe in themselves, their people, and the future.
The closing of Kwanzaa often includes a celebratory feast, the Karamu, and the extinguishing of the Kinara candles.
